How we price junk removal

How the
number
gets set

Photos are the quick way in — no appointment, no sitting around waiting on a window. For anything large or complicated we would rather walk it with you, because standing in the space tells us things a photo will not.

01

Send photos

Stand back far enough to get the whole pile in frame, and tell us what floor it is on and how close a truck can get. Enough for us to size up most jobs without anybody taking time off work.

02

We come back with an estimate

Based on how much space the load takes, what it weighs, and how far it has to go. On bigger jobs we will set up a time to come look at it in person first — a walkthrough gets you a tighter number than a photo can.

03

We show up and clear it

An owner is on every job, and it is the person who priced it. We carry it out, sweep the space, and haul it off.

About Clean Slate

An owner is
on every job

Clean Slate was started by Nick and William, and we still run it the same way we did on day one: an owner answers the phone, an owner prices the job, and an owner is there when the work gets done.

That is the part we will not hand off, no matter how big we get. Whoever gives you a price is accountable for what shows up in your driveway. And whatever comes out goes to a permitted transfer station, recycler, or donation center — nothing gets dumped on a back road, and we can tell you exactly where your load went.

Clean Slate is a registered Maryland LLC, licensed in Cecil County and carrying commercial insurance — worth asking any hauler to show you, because plenty of trucks on Craigslist cannot.

Clean Slate was a pleasure to work with! They removed a ton of junk that had gotten away from us over the years, and now my yard looks so much better. Pricing was fair, service was quick and the guys were very nice and professional. Can’t recommend enough.

Common questions

Before
you call

How much does junk removal cost in Cecil County, MD?

It comes down to how much space the load takes, what it weighs, and how far it has to be carried and hauled. Household junk and furniture are priced by volume. Heavy material such as concrete, dirt, shingles and tile is priced by weight instead, because a small pile of it outweighs a full load of furniture. Text photos to 410-996-4860 for a quick estimate. On larger jobs we come out and look in person before giving a final price.

What areas do you cover?

Everything within about an hour of North East, Maryland. That is all of Cecil County and much of Harford County in Maryland, New Castle County in Delaware including Newark, Bear, Middletown and Wilmington, and southern Chester and lower Lancaster County in Pennsylvania including Oxford, West Grove and Kennett Square. Mileage past our normal range gets added to the quote up front, not after.

Do you take appliances with freon?

Yes. Refrigerators, freezers, window air conditioners and dehumidifiers are all accepted. They are priced separately from the rest of the load because federal rules require certified refrigerant recovery before the unit can be scrapped, and that is a real cost we show rather than hide.

Do I have to be home for the pickup?

Not always. If the items are outside, in an open garage, or somewhere we can reach without going through the house, we can handle it and send photos and an invoice afterward. For anything inside an occupied home we ask that someone is there.

What will you not take?

No liquid waste, paint, chemicals, gasoline, propane tanks, asbestos or medical waste. No disposal facility in Maryland, Delaware or Pennsylvania will accept them from a hauler. Cecil County runs household hazardous waste collection days for most of that — call the Solid Waste Management Division at 410-996-6275 for the next date.

How soon can you come out?

Usually within the week, often sooner. Text photos to 410-996-4860 and we will tell you the soonest we can get there along with the price — an actual day, not a four-hour window.

Are you licensed and insured?

Clean Slate is a registered Maryland LLC, licensed in Cecil County, and carries commercial general liability insurance. We will send a certificate on request, which is worth asking any hauler for before they load your property.
