How this
gets priced
Shed teardowns are quoted per structure. Size matters less than what it is made of and what is inside it — a 10x12 wood shed full of stored junk is a bigger job than a bare 12x16 metal one. The concrete pad, if there is one, is quoted separately, because concrete is priced by weight and it changes the number substantially.

Before we start
What we
need to know
Whether anything is running to it. Buried electrical to a shed is common and it has to be disconnected at the panel by an electrician before we touch the structure. Same for water lines. We are not going to find out with a saw.
How old it is. Sheds built before the mid-1980s can have asbestos-cement siding — the corrugated gray panels are the classic case. That cannot be demolished or hauled by us or anybody without an abatement license. If yours is old and the siding looks like that, get it tested before scheduling.
What the pad is. A shed sitting on gravel or skids is straightforward. A shed on a poured concrete pad is two jobs, and the concrete half is priced by weight because that is how the landfill charges for it. Plenty of people leave the pad in place and use it for the next shed.
And whether your township needs a demolition permit. Most do not for a small accessory structure, but some do, and it is worth a phone call before the day rather than after.

Do you remove the concrete pad too?
If you want it gone, yes, but it is quoted separately and priced by weight. Concrete is the heaviest thing we haul. A lot of people leave the pad and put the next shed on it.
What if the shed has already collapsed?
That is fine and often easier. Storm-damaged and collapsed structures are normal work. Send a photo — a collapsed shed sometimes has more usable metal in it than a standing one.
Can you take a shed with electric run to it?
Only after an electrician has disconnected it at the panel. We do not cut into anything that might be live.
Do you need a permit?
For a small accessory shed, usually not, but it varies by township and county. It is worth one phone call to your local zoning office before we schedule. Anything with a foundation or that counts as a real building needs a licensed demolition contractor instead of us.
