Cecil County runs its own disposal system and everything we pull out of a North East property stays inside it. The Central Landfill sits at 758 East Old Philadelphia Road in Elkton, open Monday through Saturday, 7:30am to 3:30pm.
Worth knowing, because it catches people out: the county’s two transfer stations — Woodlawn on Waibel Road in Colora and Stemmer’s Run in Earleville — only take bagged household trash and recyclables. Bulky waste, furniture, construction debris and cleanout material all have to go to the Central Landfill in Elkton, no matter which corner of the county it came from. So if you were planning to run a load to whichever one is closest to you, it will get turned away at the gate.
The scale house weighs trucks in and out and charges by the ton. That is the whole reason we ask for photos before quoting: the weight of a load is most of the cost of a load, and guessing at it over the phone helps nobody.
One more thing if you are comparing haulers — Cecil County facilities will not accept waste generated outside the county, and the reverse is true too. A hauler running your North East debris out of the county is paying to do it, and that shows up in your price.

Are you actually based in North East?

How far ahead do I need to book?
Less than most people expect. A single-item pickup in North East can sometimes happen within a day or two; a full property cleanout needs more notice because it takes more than one day. Either way you get a firm date up front.
What if I cannot be there?
That is normal and not a problem. Tell us how to get to the items — an open garage, an unlocked gate, a lockbox code — and we will clear it, sweep up, and send you photos with the invoice.
Are there things you cannot legally haul?
A short list: liquid waste, paint, chemicals, fuel, propane tanks, asbestos and medical waste. Every disposal facility we use turns those away at the gate, so we will not load them. We would rather tell you up front than surprise you.
